A slow morning, tidying, packing, washing. A pleasant walk to Kings Cross. A sneaky weekend upgrade to first class. Four hours of solid work on chapter 3 & it’s off to review.

I rearrange my plans, take the train to Glasgow, have dinner with Megan and Angus. They’re both in fine fettle, both in the middle of exams. Megan is also applying for summer jobs and writing a speech for the Glasgow May Day parade. Angus is looking for an apprenticeship, possibly in plumbing, deciding that uni is not for him.

Finally, the tedious train journey to Kinghorn. I find myself languishing in the Inverkeithing waiting room while Hamish races the 10:51 from Kinghorn. It’s a draw, but I opt to ride with Hamish in his German speed machine.
