New sport?

Nap creeping.
Not long "before Alice" she decided to have the "Computer Shack" carpet replaced; it having been worn, over decades, to, quite litterally, threadbare. I suggested we wait until after the "Festering Season". She was adamant she wanted it done BEFORE Christmas. I wonder if she, sub-consciously, knew?

(AGAIN - retrospectively. I can't, actually, remember if it was that Christmas, but it was certainly A Christmas)

Be that as it may; we discovered that incessant rolling over with the Office chairs (ex-shop) had reduced the underlay to dust. I got the idea of a plastic sheet as seen in some offices. It worked beautifully.
BUT
I noticed a while ago that assorted bits and pieces were sneaking under the sheet between infrequent vacuum sessions. Thinking I had knocked them I left the wee skewer there and, Lo and behold, it's now further under than I could ever have knocked it; so I decided to leave it and see if it will wander right across and exit the other side.
(The SIM is an unexpected "bonus")
