Lilac’s demise

Our old lilac tree at the bottom of the garden came crashing down overnight. The branches had been sinking lower and the weight of the foliage has obviously been too much and the base of the trunk had rotted and split.

Fortunately it just missed landing on the compost bin.

I will just need to get my friend back with his chain saw !
