Max gust today only around 48 mph but the persistance of the SE gales and the increase in wind speed that is due has again cancelled the boats tonight and almost certainly tomorrows. NortLink are confident that Sunday nights sailing will make it but sadly eldest won't now make it for Christmas.

Now I know that Tesco's are not everybodys favourite business but hats off to them as they have apparently chartered a Hercules transport plane to shuttle between Edinburgh and Sumburgh tomorrow to convoy in supplies. Would like to get to Sumburgh to catch a Hercules but not sure if I will make it.
