Wildflower, Bloodroot

I love how the wildflower, Bloodroot, clasps its leaves around it’s stem. Then the sun comes out, and it opens it’s bloom; up-close it is pretty wonderful to view. When it is plucked, a reddish liquid is released from its stem hence its name.
