Turn-up
It was supposed to be a wet and windy day but was glorious. We set off after good long sleeps to walk over to Bruntsfield for brunch then walked down via Grassmarket (and Mary’s Milk Bar for delicious ice cream!) into town and on to Stockbridge. All the while we chatted, browsed, and revelled in having no plan except to explore and enjoy the city and the sun for as long as we could. We looked at all sorts of things in various shops but didn’t really buy anything just used what we saw to spark various further conversations. In Stockbridge we suddenly realised we were tired so went into lovely cafe and ended up having Earl Grey gin cocktails.....just what we needed!
Refreshed, we toodled along to Umi, a new Japanese restaurant and had a delicious early supper and talked of visiting Japan.
Walked back up to the Traverse for an evening of fabulous music http://www.soundhouse.org.uk/events/what-a-voice/ What talented singers and musicians....brilliant way to end a good day (with more than 20k steps!)
