Why?

London was cold and windy today, and so our day was spent at home doing all the boring domestics. Including a trip to the supermarket.
Although R is a vegetarian (ish) we have never bought anything vegetarian that is made to look like meat. I just don’t get it. Why does vegetarian food need to replicate meat. The worst being veggie bacon. And what is vegetarian steak?
Obviously I don’t have anything against vegetarians, after all I married one, but this packaging is ridiculous.
