A drone fly.....

.....sitting upon a strawflower sipping sweet nectar.

I enjoyed some camera time in my garden, just me the flowers, honey bees, fantails and this little drone fly. It was lovely and warm, 25C with a gentle breeze. There's another in my extras which just missed out, the wings are beautiful but the little bud of the strawflower annoyed me, I shouldn't be quite so fussy :)

Mum has been having a wonderful time in Sydney enjoying the warmth, relaxing on the beaches, eating a lovely array of fresh fruit and spending time with her younger (early teens) grandies. But tonight she flys in just after midnight, I'll be there to whisk her away and get her snuggled into the comforts of her home.
