Common Enchantments

Going west day 1

After a six hour drive through we arrived at our first "tourist" stop at Cumberland Gap State Resort Park to view the falls of the Cumberland River.    It did not disappoint!

I had to make a collage in order to save my extras.   The old bridge over the river was so beautiful and the falls were roaring!   This falls is also the location of a moonbow-rainbow on nights of full moon and clear skies.    There are many trails but we did not explore any further than the overlooks.   (I am coming back to this place to hike!)

We left the park and drove another couple of hours before stopping at Glasgow, Kentucky.  Miles driven today 450!

For anyone wanting to track us on a map, we drove I-26 to I-40 west in Asheville, then at Knoxville, TN we turned north on I-75. At Williamsburg, KY we turned on KY 90 to the park, then continued on 90 until 27 near Somerset then west on the Cumberland Parkway to Glasgow.

Tomorrow we will be on the road again!
