Dog days

I took my friend's dog Luka with me to Silverado today. People who walked by in the courtyard would extend a hand to touch his head or back, many saying something like, "Hi big fella," or "Oh!" When the dogs just stood around looking at us, not used to our inactivity (we'd already done several laps), my mom said of Luka, "He's a thinker."
