Down to earth

At the weekend F and Shropshirelad worked in blazing heat to rid the small flower bed of the worst of it's boulders, big stones, slates and rubble. It's on  the side of the drive so had been compacted by the feet and machines of the workmen so was a nightmare of a job.

Today a load of topsoil was delivered by a lorry and lowered by crane onto the bed.  During the weekend F will help me to spread it around and then flowers can be planted.  Hopefully it will look much more colourful in a few weeks time.
