Where do you get your ideas?

Well, I am just back from the book launch of Laura Turnbull Fyfe’s latest guide for writers in Stirling.
 
Laura asked a clutch of established writers, including Janice Galloway, to write about their sources of inspiration.
 
The result is “The Magpie Mind” (published by Figment books).
 
As for the fundamental question, “why do people write?” Somerset Maugham said:
 
“We do not write because we want to, we write because we have to.”
