Bamburgh Castle

It had to be visited!  There was a very red sunrise this morning warning of an approaching storm but the cloudless blue sky at 9 a.m. made it difficult to believe either the "shepherd's warning" or weather forecast.   We could see the Farne Islands and Lindisfarne.   However we decided to visit the castle in the morning just in case ....   A good decision as at 12.30 a few spots of rain began the promised  wet afternoon.  Too late to spoil our very enjoyable visit.  The more familiar view of the castle, taken from the car park, is the extra.
