Pretty but nasty!

This is the flower of a plant called Wandering Jew aka Tradiscantia.
I think the flowers are really pretty its such a shame that its a noxious weed.
I spent about an hour exploring the garden today and Ive discovered one of the draw backs to have lots of bush! I was attacked maliciously by biting insects. Not mosquitoes, maybe sand flies but man is it annoying when your trying to take a macro photo while trying to resist the urge to slap at the nasty little blitters while they drink your blood.
Insect repellent has been put on my shopping list! Might get some citronella candles while Im at it for when we are sitting on our deck.
