Icing on the cake

Ben and I decorated the Christmas cake today. I made the cake a few weeks back with help from my sister (we love baking together). I've been dousing it in brandy every week since it came out of the oven.

Today it was icing day.

We normally do quite traditional icing and decoration on the Chrimbo cake but this year I wanted to do something different. Ish. So we did this.

I think it looks really pretty.

Mary Berry says she likes decoration on cakes and pies to give an idea of what's in them. Yes, there are cherries and almonds in the cake!
