Babushka

After running around with now 93 year-old Rosie yesterday, I stopped at Sun Plum Market and was not disappointed. Although I rarely drink wine anymore, this label’s artwork caught my eye. I saw many Eastern European women like this one growing up. My grandmother and great grandmother also kept chickens in their urban backyards.

The owl’s feet reminded me of the chicken feet I saw hanging on coiled wire from a car mirror earlier in the day. Why would someone do that? For good luck or chase away evil I presume.
