Stairway to? (widwed240419)
The work of the past few days is the subject of my blip - part of the railway cutting behind our garden fence. We have cleared the ground behind the fence to make enough space for it to be replaced. That involved cutting down a couple of crab apple trees - which were the cause of the fence being damaged in the first place. As the new fence will be lower, we decided to tidy up the section we will be able to see. The steps to the right were intended to be temporary, but we quite like them as a route down the bank, so, assuming we do buy the land they might be made permanent. The horizontal pieces of branch on the bank are there to provide a little stability while the Vinca and Pachysandra Gill has planted get a chance to root themselves. There will be an archway/gate in the fence so we wanted to get the junk removed before it had to be carried through the arch, hence needing steps down to the bottom. The junk we cleared last week went to our local recycling centre this morning.
Five images merged into a panorama - a few artefacts in the trees which I'm guessing are the breeze twirling the leaves.
In the extra - the far side of the cutting - and the reason we bought a chainsaw today!
We are slowly making progress towards owning it :-)
Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting Wide Wednesday.
