Thornham Harbour
Today G and I were visiting someone in Thornham, so we decided to also go down to the harbour. This area is much photographed, but you have to be very careful as the tide comes in very quickly. The main photo is of the old coal barn and an old boat. The tide comes right up to the barn and surrounds it from a photo I've seen. The extra is of some tree stumps which in the right light (which it wasn't today) can look quite mystical.
We then went on to the nearby Titchwell RSPB reserve and walked out to the beach. It was very windy and bitterly cold today, despite what the thermometer in the car said. We were back to jeans, fleece, coat and a hat! The tide was right out and we saw a mass of the remains of trees which looked like low rocks and were covered with shells. I saw a gentleman collecting something and he told me he gathered mussels there and that they're the best in the area.
