Herculaneum

Today we got up bright and early for a day trip to Herculaneum, the Roman village that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Pompei was also buried the same year and was a much bigger town. Herculaneum is still a huge site but much more manageable. It was a remarkable place to visit. I’ve added some extras including a Neapolitan on a Saturday night (just teasing!).

Despite taking many photos of the site, none of them do it justice so my blip is my favourite photo of today - Tim and I enjoying some tasty gelato after a long day.
