Keep looking up...

Every day’s a school day...turns out there’s a story here - on November 24th 1861 the tenement next door to Paisley Close (Bailie Fyfe's Close) collapsed, killing thirty five people. The man in sculpture at the entrance to Paisley close is Joseph McIver, who survived the tenement collapse and was pulled to safety after people heard him calling "Heave awa‚ chaps, ah'm no‚ deid yet'.
