So I knew last week would have some issues but what I hadn’t allowed for was how much disruption a sick cat could create

Tonks is tiny (under 3kg) and has feline hyperthyroidism
After her routine booster appointment she started sneezing- then we realised that she hadn’t eaten for two days
I syringe fed her “cat-milk “ and put chicken in her mouth
And by Wednesday I thought she was over it
Thursday morning she was limp but put up one hell of a fight as I rushed to the vet as an emergency
£300 later she was discharged having been on an iv drip for 8 hours two shaved legs (she removed the first catheter) and a shaved neck when she was finally calm enough for her regular nurse to draw the required sample
Friday night she was fully discharged because I had managed to get her eating but I have to administer antibiotics (£50 extra)
I was the first penicillin allergic human the vet had met so the dosing involves gloves and distance (he helped by breaking all the tablets in half for me)

Meanwhile on Thursday afternoon after I had been to physio I had to collect my dad from the hospital
They’re running tests in case they have to remove one of his lungs but he is very vague on what’s been said (he has banned my mum from the consultation)
So to mark the end of the good weather today Kassie was treated to a bluebell walk in our local nature reserve
I have never heard so much birdsong there before
