A welcome drop in temperature

The cooler temperature made for a more energetic walk through the quarry field with the dogs this morning. 

While Lottie was drinking from the pond, Freckle had found a bone of some sort in the undergrowth. I managed to wrestle it from her jaws and threw it into the middle of said pond, whereupon she promptly waded in, ducked her head under the water and emerged, triumphant, with the bone! I had to admire her tenacity :-)

Later I had a great catch-up with blipmate nell2803 over the usual coffee and cake at Ben View. That raspberry and lemon cake was scrumptious.

Heading down the hill now to spend some time with Leo and Pookie. Pleased to report that they survived their first 'home alone' night and both were fast asleep when I went to feed them first thing this morning.
