German Music Box

This lovely little guy is a cigarette lighter music box.  Its plays a song by Lili Marlene and until today, the lighter didn't work!  We will never use it, but I wanted to see if we could get it working again so Chris took up the challenge! The music box works.  We think dad purchased it around 1950 when he was in Berlin as a gift for his mum, who did smoke.  

I am also wondering if there are any blippers here who are experts in Chinese silk writing?  We came across a lovely a4 size  silk (very, very thin and heavily damaged) with detailed writing on it, wrapped in a piece of newspaper, also in Chinese.  We have no idea how or why Mum and Dad were in possession of it as they have never been to China and they certainly never mentioned having it!
