Easter!

Easter started with a surprise Easter hunt!! Every good day starts with chocolate for breakfast.

Today was definitely going to be a good day, the sun was shining and I knew that after a few hours in the library we’d soon be on our way up north for a wee camping/cycling trip. Leaving the library in afternoon we wasted no time and got on the road, and arrived at Weem early evening to try to squeeze in some evening climbing. Unfortunately it took a little longer than expected to find the crag and so didn’t manage to climb, but the views were amazing even from the ground. It was getting dark by the time we left Weem and onto our camping spot by Loch Rannoch, by the time we arrived it was pitch black and, with a very dim head-torch, we scoured the coastline looking for a suitably flat spot. After getting out and testing a few we finally found a great one, secluded, flat and right by the loch. Now past 10pm we set the tent up and tried to get dinner on the go. However, we quickly realised in our rush we’d both forgot a lighter for the stove(s) - two stoves and no lighter! Luckily we had food that only needed to be heated up, so we cracked open a well deserved beer and ate cold ragu by the edge of loch. Sat chatting, listening to music and the sounds of the loch stirring below us, who needs hot food anyway? I was just grateful to be away from the library and I couldn’t have asked for better company.

We both ended up falling asleep by the loch, and then finally crawled into the tent at some point.
