Serendipity
A morning trip down memory lane to Swanage. An old holiday haunt not visited for 30 years. It is still more or less as it was. And they have restored the old pier. A brilliant job and well worth the £1 entrance fee. You can fish or just sit in the sun on the slats and shoot the breeze.
In the evening, looking for a dinner venue we went in to a local pizza spot which we didn't much fancy the look of so we beat a hasty retreat. On leaving we asked a passing local looking chap for advice. Corfe Castle's your best bet he suggested. There are two pubs there, the one on the right is the best and does decent food.
So off we went into the sunset arriving at Corfe and parking down a charming little street. And The Greyhound looked inviting and cosy. But hold on, every table was reserved. As we were looking around a lovely young couple said they were just leaving so we were welcome to have their place. Talk about good timing. And the dinner - plaice and chips- was delicious.
Isn't it great the way sometimes everything falls into place when it looked like things might be going pear shaped.
