Family Day

I got up at 6.30 to get the oven on to do the 3kg of shoulder lamb, slow roasted. It was worth it as it was delicious.

After lunch the children roamed the garden to find the eggs. It was such a sunny day we didn’t get round to painting any to roll. Last year we were inside all day as it was snowing, but today was lovely and sunny.

The ensuing sugar rush resulted in them getting all the cushions and pillows to make an assault course. They had fun.

Later Thomas and Nathaniel filled the bird bath and as soon as they left the birds came down to enjoy it.

I’m off to read ‘Admissions, a life in Brain Surgery’ by Henry Marsh which #2 daughter has loaned me. I was finding D H Lawrence depressing.
