Dry River bed

This is our dry dry river bed.....’developed ‘ after a major flood about 20 years ago....
Today it was full of brown, sandy, gritty water....once again, saving Albir village from flooding

We are experiencing a ‘Gota fria’...a combination of atmospheric conditions, that give rise to prolonged heavy rain, with thunder and lightning, and sometimes accompanied by strong winds......it is raining heavily as I type this!

To experience a Gota Fria in April is rare..........more usually they occur in October/November

the Spanish newspapers are describing this as the worst/ strongest April Gota Fria in more than 70 years.
