Plant heaven

Another hot day today. After a birthday breakfast at Mrs M's request at the Blue Bear cafe in Canonmills we walked down to Edinburgh Botanics for a quick visit, but such was the weather and the amazing number of trees in bloom I stayed on while the others went off to do other things. 

The place was heaving, but there was so much to see and I had some good conversations with both a member of staff and a couple of total strangers. I vowed to come back more often as I feel rather rather left out of the horticultural world after retiring and coming here brings it all back. 

Back home tomorrow via Glasgow.
