Happy Easter

My favourite Festival and one to inspire hope ..
The sun shone in glorious weather. we visited Pfauen Insel .Situated in the Havel this island was chosen by Friedrich Wilhelm II in 1793. The castle you see was built for his mistress . Later his son introduced all kinds of wild animals to the island and allowed the public to visit .It was the forerunner of the Berlin Zoo. These days many peacocks live there and are a joy to watch and listen to .Now a wild life sanctuary and world heritage site One reaches it by a small ferry . No cars or bikes are allowed ,The gardens , trees, buildings are amazing .
