Farringdon

Walked to the office from Farringdon today for a change. The area around Smithfield market, St Barts Hospital, Charterhouse Square is interesting to walk through. Farringdon is quite possibly the least important of the central London main line stations - its not even on the Monopoly Board. That will all change (not the Monopoly Board bit) when Crossrail is completed and the station becomes a major interchange with Thameslink. The station has recently been completely redeveloped and extended with a large new entrance and concourse built opposite the original Metropolitan Railway frontage (which still retains the original "Farringdon & High Holborn" name).
