Far from the Madding Crowd
Decided to prepare for a trip to House of Bruar by exploring the Loch Bhac Shieling Heritage Path, having explored its neighbour the Old Struan Coffin Road a couple of weeks ago.
This time our destintaion was the Old Shielings marked on the map, although only traces now remain (see extra).
It was a lovely walk - once we had covered the 400m or so along the side of the A9 where we had parked in layby 53 - taking us through farmland complete with gamboling lambs, climbing through an old birch wood before emerging into open moorland. We were suprised to encounter another couple who were walking from Loch Tummel over to Blair Athol. Good to know that we arent along on tracking down old paths !
We retraced our steps and then ventured into HoB which was very, very busy. A quick browse and then we headed home.
