Sissinghurst: Garden Gazebo
More peaceful a spot to read or write in large.
Im and I (re)visisted Sissinghurst Castle to see the splendid gardens of Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson. It was a warm and sunny day, and although the formal gardens were looking very fine, it was actually the local spring flowers (esp. fritillaries, grape hyacinths, and bluebells) and ferns that I found most appealing this time rather than the more exotic flowers and varieties in the beds of the themed gardens.
We explored the gardens, climbed the tower, and then went to look around the woods and lakes beyond the formal gardens...
