Died and gone to heaven

At ten to six I contemplated getting going. At ten to twelve I got going. Unbeknown to me I had, at some point, slipped through a portal and popped into a world of unparalleled pure beauty. As I climbed on to the cliff tops I was so intoxicated by the heady smell of coconut from the gorse that my knees almost buckled as I walked. There was a dreamy haze of bluebells with white stitchwort stars shining out, flushes of primroses, purslane and white campion and small clouds of thrift. Looking across to Heston Island the sea was flat calm and then....and then...to top it all, there were dolphins!!! The middle panel of the collage in extras shows the tiniest black blob. You’ll have to take my word for it, it’s a dolphin! The afternoon heat seemed to leave us all speechless...as I passed a couple sat on the rocks we exchanged languishing unspoken waves of greeting acknowledging our collective dream as if we had walked onto a scene from Death In Venice.
As I headed back I passed the hotel that years ago my husband and I had thought would be the perfect treat for mum and dad. They never made it and so it only seemed right that I should have tea on the lawn in honour of all of three of them. My stomach was in wholehearted agreement.
