Exploring Mull
Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,
We headed to Ulva to meet two of The Explorer’s friends who had arrived over this morning. I was quite amused that one of the ‘top things to do on Ulva’ according to one of the tourist info websites is ‘ferry to Ulva’. Particularly given that the ferry journey lasts around 2 minutes! We visited Sheila’s cottage, a reconstructed thatched cottage (with a slightly creepy mannequin) which gives the history of the Island, had a wander round and went to the Boathouse for lunch.
We drove round the other side of Mull on the way back so we had gone right round the island, with a stop on Calgary beach for ice cream. We went to a really nice restaurant called The Galleon Grill for dinner which is owned by friends of The Explorer and Boots. The plan was to finish up early as we are going on a boat trip tomorrow but that didn’t quite happen. It’s lucky that the pubs close at midnight here!
I had to admit to being very childish and that Ulva makes me giggle. I wonder if there’s an Isle of Enis?
