It's official!

It's official - there won't be a hosepipe ban next year! The reservoirs are full and the groundwater levels are high. It is very soggy outside!

We live next to a marl pit, dug out in the fifteenth century for fertiliser for the fields. About every seven years or so there is water in the bottom and sometimes a small lake lasts for a few months. This is when the water table is above the level of the bottom of the dell. There is no water there yet this year, but I can't help thinking it will appear soon.
