Cat Power, Aylesford
After yesterday's exhaustion and exertions today was a completely different day. I woke up early and went for a run along the river - it was a glorious morning and made me feel so much better. Strangely, despite being very tired I floated along. I think it was the fact that I knew it was the start of a four day break so I felt very relaxed.
The rest of the day featured food shopping (we're having a full turkey dinner on Sunday), a trip to our village pub (they were doing a roaring trade - staff looked a wee bit harrassed!) and some good telly (with glass or two of white wine). Watched the excellent documentary about Rembrandt's life but was annoyed with myself because I nodded off for a few minutes half way in!
Today's image is of a cat I spotted, on my way back from the pub, high up on a fence. I love the inscrutability of cats and that they can take or very definitely leave your affection. This one looked noble and ever so slightly haughty at the same time. Our neighbours have a cat that we call Little Ginge that, very rarely, will let you stroke it. Most often it has a look of disdain on it's face as if it would much rather be left alone - so we wave at it to annoy it even more. Somehow, though, we always look out for it every day and miss it when it's not there - that's cat power for you!
