Can you Help?

Firstly thank you for the fabulous response to yesterday's gull blip, I certainly didn't expect so many lovely comments, stars and hearts!

I haven't slept very well for the last 3 nights and today I'm feeling very achy so today is a very quick blip of a Father Christmas we bought last year from the German Market in Birmingham.

Plea for help

Rob has been set a history project to be done over the Christmas holiday....he has to find out about an ancestor who was involved in the First World War. We have the name of Gav's Great Grandfather.....Hubert/Herbert Steptoe (born 1887 we think) who was in the 2nd South Wales Regiment....do any of you clever blippers know how we can find out some more information....i.e online military records etc. We believe he was in the army from 1914 and that he was a prisoner of war at one stage but survived. Any advice would be gratefully received.....thank you x
