Senseless

It's 21 years from the day when we signed the Good Friday Agreement. We hoped for peace. Last night a 29 year old journalist was murdered. I had worked with her. She was Lyra McKee, a wonderful talent.
Forbes rated her as one of the 30 under 30 in the media.
Her partner, Sara, said "This cannot stand. Lyra’s death must not be in vain because her life was a shining light in everyone else’s life, and her legacy will live on and the life that she has left behind.”
I weep for this unnecessary loss of a young life. I pray we never repeat the carnage. I remain an optomist. I continue to work for peace.
