At the yard for 6.30am to meet the farrier. He reassured me about limes feet and and as I'm away for a week we decided not to create more nail holes by trying to shoe today. He said they're not as bad as he expected and the chunks breaking off are just where the nail holes are growing out so felt better about that. He said not to write off going unshod as I might be surprised how strong they are once there's no nail holes.

Mike had to dash straight out to work when I got back. No bank hol for him but he gets Tues off instead. Me and the kids went straight out with the dogs. Toby decided to take himself off home whilst I was getting photos of the dogs. It was a bit stressful as I didn't know where he was. I rang Jo and Neil as i'd not caught up with him and I'd asked a couple of walkers who had come the same route from the village if they had seen him and they said they hadn't (turns out cos he was running they had missed him!) . A couple of minutes later Neil rang back and he had turned up at their back door as he couldn't get in at home. Obviously. Because we were all supposed to be out on a bloody walk together. I read him the riot act and he apologised a lot. More grey hair!!

Spent most of the day doing laundry, tidying up the garden after last night and painting the garden table and chairs. Then back to give the Neds their tea, nip round the supermarket and feed some cats. Lots of packing to do tonight!
