A Christmas Forest
I popped along the road to a local display of around thirty different Christmas trees.
Some were innovative, some traditional - there were minimalist trees and some had every kind of opulent decoration. There were story boards detailing the traditions of having a tree at Christmas around the world.
My favourite is the colouful cone-shaped one created by local school children out of many giant flower shapes. Each child made their own flower and chose a word to write in its centre; the words made me think about the true spirit of the season; here are some of their chosen words:-
appreciate
refresh
hope
peace
inspire
begin anew
love
joy
happiness
kindness
