The Bellbirds are back at last
After blipping an about to flower flax a few weeks ago I knew it wouldn't be long until the bellbirds ventured back into the garden. It's nice to see that my prediction held true!
We hear bellbirds/korimako throughout the year, but it's only really when the flaxes bloom that they get close enough to pick them out with the lens.
The call of the birds is just beautiful, it's one of the reasons why I love living where we do. Now that the bellbirds are chiming it won't be long until kingfishers/kotare start being heard from the tops of the kanuka and the power lines..
Let's see how that prediction and -fingers crossed- following blips turn out...
