On a bear hunt.
I’d arranged to go over to Paxton near Berwick today to see my friend Margaret and have lunch at Paxton House. She really did wonder if I’d lost the plot when I said that after lunch I wanted to find an old airfield. My blip is the former control tower of Winfield Airfield and is about three miles from her house.
This all came about when I blipped Wojtec the Soldier Bear on Saturday and fellow blipper Cake Martyr mentioned that his grandfather had served with the Polish Second Corps who had befriended the brown bear and enlisted him into the army. This is where they ware all based when they came to Scotland, although there isn’t much left to see. But I did drive down what was left of the runway to get this shot.
Anyway, it was such a grey day that I took the liberty of improving it slightly with a blue sky - I’ve got an app for that! The original is in extras.
I’ve back blipped three photos from last week that I took but didn’t transfer from my cameras until today.
