To me this is one of the most the most beautiful sights - to see a swan performing this amazing stretch, usually after a lengthy session of intricate preening. I often see photographers lying on their tummies - I'm not good at that, so adopt a very inelegant position - kneel with my head and camera low down and my behind sticking up in the air! I find I can stay there for ages - just as well as it can sometimes be for 15 minutes or more while I wait for the right moment.
