Blend of Tradition & Modernity

After visiting the new National Museum of Qatar, I also went back to the former Museum of Islamic Art.
It is another iconic construction made by E.M. Pei (additional blip). Built on an artificial island, it is meant to be a reflective image of the Qatar Peninsula.
These outside gallery arches open on Doha Bay and its newly-built skyline. The foreground flat water pool seems to be another image for the bay.
