Nick and his bird

Nick is an old friend of my elder son's and now a tree surgeon who we call upon when any trees need attention. He usually travels around with his beautiful dog Breeze but today his companion was feathered.

A few days ago Nick was working in his garden when a neighbour asked for help with a tiny blue parakeet she'd rescued from some crows. There was no clue where it had come from so Nick offered to look after it. He fashioned a makeshift cage and the little bird has settled down under his care and seems happy to accompany him.

Nick is a champion for the natural world and cares deeply about plants and animals. The rescue bird has already found a place in his heart.
