Smack against the immovable
The incoming swell I mentioned yesterday has been transforming the east coast. The person at about eye-level with the top spray (upper far right) gives some idea of the height and fury of this wave action. Do you see the bird? Very windy 15-25 mph, lots of salt spray in the air, ocean is filled with whitecaps. Such energy around, it was wonderful. The waves are actually a little less than yesterday at Sandy Beach. But look at these extras:
1. Don't know what he expects me to do - apply the brakes . . ? or . . . Hey, it's up to you to move, I'm underway already!
2. Movin' sideways on a hand-paddle!
3. This red-tailed tropicbird was coming back to its nesting site in the cliffs below me. (Not quite sharp, but so beautiful to see.)
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake off the west coast of the Big Island (Kona area on Hawaii Island) happened about 5PM - no tsunami, minimal damage. I was out taking fotos, didn't feel it here on Oahu.
