Went to marina for a quick totter, the wind was rather lazy - went through me instead of round me. While I was taking photos of this immature male (rather than male in eclipse according to bird book), I suddenly realised there was a face peering up from the water - a seal! I tried to blip it, but either it was moving too fast through the water or I was shaking with cold/excitement. Also saw mergansers, a little grebe, and shelducks. None of the other photos came out well - so this afternoon I've been RTFM. I begin to suspect that I may have broken the vibration reduction thingy by using a tripod at field trip without first turning off the vibration reduction
:-[ The manual says that can cause it to stop functioning. Either that or I was shaking too much with the wind/cold.
