In the middle of nowhere
I stayed overnight at the House of Elrig, best known as the birthplace of author and naturalist Gavin Maxwell.
It's a lovely old house set in the open Galloway countryside miles from anywhere - it was strange to explore the house and garden which was so familiar to Gavin, of whom I'm a great fan.
Now to set about some redesigning work in the garden - more than I imagined it would be, but a privilege to be involved. (see yesterday's Blip)
