The Leander

The Leander is a 1936 engine. It came through the Kirkham & Wesham station this afternoon, but didn't stop for passengers or photographers.

It  was operated by London Midland and Scotland railways for nearly 30 years between 1936 and 1964. It is currently owned by the West Coast Railway company, and today it was taking day trippers from Blackpool to Preston, and then through the Ribble Valley to Carnforth. The Kirkham & Wesham station is about halfway between Blackpool and Preston.

This morning I completed another 5K Parkrun at Lytham Hall and achieved a PB ( personal best), knocking over 2 minutes off my time. The extra photo was taken by running pals who deem it necessary to put people in a frame, with a bell, whenever they achieve a personal best.  Crazy but fun.
