In and around Humshaugh

'Twas on a Sat'day morning that the electrician came....
He  was on his motorbike from South Shields and often comes to Kielder at the weekends, so he know the way to our village. He was here to see why Sara had an electric shock from the copper pipes yesterday.

It looks as though it is because the first workmen left a 13 amp socket lying on the floor of the kitchen where it got damp. 

Then he discovered that there is no proper earth wire from our junction box or from the meter. There is one from the meter, but it's "not fit for purpose". We have lived here for 20 years in blissful ignorance.

Why, I muse, has none of the electricians who have done work over the years noticed this flaw? 

How we laughed!!

So there is more work to be done before we make progress on restoration.

I've still been at a standstill so rested. I had a quick walk round the block at the end of the afternoon. The light was lovely. 

Here is the bus stop in the centre of the village. You can see that there is a lot going on from all the adverts. My extra is a lone tree in a field that I pass on my quick walk.
